• Boundary Surveys: surveys for the express purpose of locating the corners and boundary lines of a given parcel of land. This involves record and field research, measurements, and computatations to establish boundary lines in conformance with the professional Land Surveyors Act. Easement lines may also be located and/or established with this type of survey. A Record of Survey is typically filed with the County Recorder, or depending on the circumstances, a Corner Record is filed.
  • Subdivision Surveys: Subdivision of tracts of land into small parcels, showing monumentation and survey sate on a map, in conformance with local ordinances and the subdivision
  • Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Elevation Certification: to determine the height above mean sea level (elevation) of structures for flood insurance purposes.
  • Lot Line Adjustments: This process allows changes in the location of property line or the "reshaping" and/or repositioning of existing parcels or lots.
  • Legal Descriptions: Descriptions of the outlines of specific areas which cannot apply to any other areas, whether they are real property, easements or air space. Although the definition is correctly states as "property Descriptions" or "Easement Description", it is generally called "Legal Description" because it must stand up under the law and litigation.
  • Topographic surveys: Surveys locating topographic features - natural and man made- such as buildings, improvements, fences, trees, streams, and determining the elevation of the survey site. With the elevation of the survey site known, the contour of the land can be calculated. This type of survey may be required by a governmental agency, or may be used by architects and/or engineers for the planning and design of improvements on a site or may be used by architects and/or engineers for the planning and design of improvements on a site, or may be used as an exhibit in litigation. Topographic survey may also include volumetric inventory analysis and cut/fill earth work calculations.
  • ALTA Surveys or Extended Title Insurance Coverage surveys: For the purpose of supplying a title company and lender with survey and location data necessary for issuing American Land Title Association or Extended Coverage Title Insurance. This survey is in conformance with the 2006 ALTA/ACSM Land Title Survey Classifications and Minimum Standards.
  • Control Surveys: precise location of horizontal and vertical positions of points for use in structural deformation studies, subsidence studies, machine alignment, mapping from aerial photographs, and other related purposes.
  • Construction Surveys: Setting construction control stakes for all phases of construction such as sewer pipelines, water pipelines, storm drainage pipelines, curb gutter and sidewalks, building location, and grading of roads and project sites, etc. The construction control stakes instruct the contractor where to build the improvements.
